Fiddle Tuition in Shetland
As part of our growing involvement at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo each year, it is essential that new players are joining our ranks and players develop the skills required for our performances.

Private lessons taught by members of the band.

Individual tuition - 40 minutes for £15 locally in Shetland.

Prepare for fiddle grades, SQA performance, local competition and performances with Hjaltibonhoga as appropriate.

Including all round musicianship of technique, aural and sight reading skills.

There's no pressure to take grade exams or compete but the skills gained will help you prepare for the challenges of performing at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Margaret
Robertson

Founder and 'Fiddle Major' of Hjaltibonhoga, Margaret has led every appearance of the band at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo both in Edinburgh and overseas.

Has taught fiddle in Schools for over 30 years and is now studying towards a masters degree.

Composer and arranger and also an experienced tutor of traditional piano accompaniment.

Margaret was involved with creating the Scottish traditional fiddle grades with Trinity College London.

Margaret has recorded several albums, appeared on television and radio and performed on varied stages both nationally and internationally.
